Best setup for LAMP?

Hey Everyone. First off relatively new, I do have some linux background but not major.

I'm currently in the process of looking at setting up a LAMP server. I wanted to know what everyone would suggest as an Distro for the LAMP server, as this needs to host a Drupal CMS and requires that I can setup FTP, and work remotely through SSL, oh and have good documentation. "If Possible."

Let me know guys if there is anything of the like. Currently, I think I'm planning on going with Ubuntu Desktop Edition (9.04) but I wanted to check here first as I heard good things from a few guys from the Linux forums at MajorGeeks smile

I know only a little on the subject, as I am a newbie at server installations, as well. Use the server edition of Ubuntu.

I highly suggest Debian 5.0 along with IspCP as hosting control panel:
