when i start my computer with my display wire attached to the nvidia hardware the system wont proceed after the windows xp loading screen. after the windows xp loading screen the screen goes black and my monitor says no signal. then i removed my nvidia card from my cpu and attached the display wire to the mother board and the screen came and the computer worked fine. but i need to know why my geforce card isn't working. i also tried to open safe mode when my display wire was in my card it came but when i checked everything and restarted my cpu the same thing happened! HELP!!

Is this a new installation of the geforce card and you were previously running off the onboard graphics of the motherboard?

In safe mode you are useing Generic VGA video driver with your Geforce, when you boot windows normally it uses the geforce drivers. but the drivers are corrupted most likely.
download and install the latest Nvidia drives and you should be back to normal, or better then normal
