are hardware modems still made or are they all software ones now?? can anyone suggeest a hardware voice modem? (ie speakerphone)??

Yep, they are. But they are getting harder to find. Most internal modems are now Winmodems. I tend to stick with USRobotics. KFlex modems can be extremely flakey and some ISPs don't support them.

The USRobotics External Voice modem supposedly works with Windows 2000 now. But only using serial. The USB support isn't there yet. It's a bit pricey at $140 though.

actually looking for a internal one really, any other suggestions??

USRobotics does have an Internal Data/Fax/Voice modem. I think they run around $100 - $120. Diamond used to make one, but I don't know if they do anymore.
