Can�t get DMA with my dvd-rom

They work fine with win98 in DMA mode. Now win2k autodetects pio mode, and if I select "use DMA if available" the system ignore the settings please help me!

I have a Motherboard Chaintech CT-6ASA, Pentium3 450, matrox g400, Sb Live, 256Mb ram, dvd pioneer A04SZ

Please Help i'm go crazy....
