I have a CTX 200Mhz AMD K6 MMX with 128M of EDO RAM and a Matrox 3.7G HDD. I can install the basic Mandrake 8.2 OS but if I try installing any of the applications it locks up when installing from the Commercial Applications CD2 (x86) and then nothing works. I've gone past the 30 days for a return at Comp USA. Is it the disc or the computer? I've even low level formatted the HDD and nothing seems to make it work.

Thanks, Robb

If you did try to reinstall Mandrake 8.2 a few times, and the same problem persists, then it could be the disc problem. Do you think you have an account with the Mandrake Club with the package you purchased? If so, you might be able to get a replacement or something. Or just download the ISO and try to see if they works for you.

If you contact Mandrake they may be inclined to ship you a replacement cd.
