Dear all,
I am having problems installing windows xp pro sp2 on a AMD duron 1.3 ghz + 512mb ram rig that i built myself from bits that i had lying around/begged/borrowed and never gave back. I run through the whole process of installing and everything goes fine, but when i restart it gives me the error "Error loading operating system" while still in the bios, just after the DMI check.

Please help!

Could you post some information about the hardware that you are using, such as the motherboard and hard drive make and model? This will help identify possible solutions. Foe example;

Does this article apply?

Look in the bios and see if the hard drive is properly detected, especially the size and name.

The XP pro is not compatible with your computer set up. The best way to fix this issue, that I see, is to change your set up or change the operating system.
