I see a version of this dating back to 2005 that supports 98-SE, what is the latest build that officially or unofficially supports this OS ???

AFAIK, the latest versions install fine in 9x.
I installed the NOV 08 Redist in 9x last week.

Hmm, I tried to do this and received an error message stating I didn't have a supported OS
I will test it out once agian just in case....

Correct, Win98SE will use up to DirectX 9.0c through the release on December 8, 2006. To find this inf, try the old FalconFly gaming site:
