Hi everyone. I'm a linux newbie and just installed mandrake 9.0.
I am using a BCD F520D CD-ROM.

Mandrake 9.0 installed fine from the CD-rom. However, when I try to use the CD-rom from mandrake, it will only read one or two files from the CD (basically any files that can be read while it is initially spinning rapidly) before not recognizing anything.

The only way to recognize any other files is to eject the CD and try again. The CD-rom works fine, as attasted by the fact that it worked properly during the initial install.

Can anyone help!?

edit /etc/fstab where it refers to your cd change from auto to iso9660

the line should read:-

none /mnt/cdrom supermount dev=/dev/hdb,fs=iso9660,ro,--,iocharset=iso8859-15depage=850 0 0

you can also do this in the mandrake control centre > mount points > cdrom > type(double click to change)

I hope this works for you.
