Mandrake 9.1 and IBM Thinkpad T23

Hey,

I am hoping someone can help me, I have just tried to install Mandrake 9.1 onto an IBM Thinkpad T23, the install went without hitch however on the final boot all I get is a black screen with an arrow mouse cursor. I know this is probably a grahics card / display prob, but I had no such problems installing 8 ono the same machine. Any help woudl be very much approecaited as I am a real beginner
