My buddies Dad has a had a new labtop for about half a year now and hasn't had a girlfriend or wife for years. Needless to say he's been looking at unsafe blush webpages and his computer has been randomly shuting down and is running slow. He does have antivirus but his computer is so bad if won't even run all the way through. It gets to like 85% in six hours and then keeps running but not scanning any files. Help would be appreciated. cool

Try running the virus scan in safe mode (not with networking). In fact, unplug the system from the network and run the scan. Make sure that the definition files are up-to-date, otherwise you are going to miss some of the newer viruses out there.
I swear, troubleshooting is a science: the best discoveries are always on accident...

Well, considering "your buddy's dad", NOT YOU, has been surfing pR0n for the last year and a half, I'd suggest a format, no matter what AVP he uses, his registry is probably hopelessly corrupted, and an AVP WILL NOT solve all his problems.

Tell him to bite the bullet, he's going to lose all his pR0n pics, such is life. BTW, time for him to move on to a REAL woman, all that virtual crap is BS.
