I've had The Sims Deluxe Edition for years now. I played a lot when we first purchased it and then stopped for a while.

A few months ago, I got back into playing it regularly, and it was still working just fine.

Then one day, all of a sudden, it stopped working. It loads and you can create families, but as soon as you evict, bulldoze, or move a family in, it closes. The evictions and bulldozes are completed, but families cannot be moved in. It also closes if you try to play as an existing family.

I'm not very computer savvy, and the only thing I've tried is reinstalling it.

Has anyone had the same problem and fixed it or does anyone have any advice, maybe?

This happened to me, at first it was a simple Error when I got to bulldozing houses etc.. Sims Deluxe edition has never worked for me properly -.-
I suggest getting rid of your sims deluxe edition for another Sims disc.. it might be easier to just get an all in one game, though.

You're right. For a while I could use other neighborhoods, but then more problems came up, so I just got rid of it.
