Toshiba Satelitte A105 restore issues

Hi, I was trying to restore the WinXP system on my Toshiba laptop, using the included restoring DVD. However, it wouldn't boot from the DVD even though I held key 'C' down while powering up the computer (as instructed by the manual). I did system restore last year and had no problems...How can I fix it? Any advice? Thanks.
