Hey,
I recently deleted the partition which contained an install of Fedora Core 5. When i rebooted, Grub loader started. I've put in an XP boot disk and run the fixboot c: and fixmbr commands and now Grub no longer boots, however, i'm getting the following error message when i boot:
The following file is missing or corrupted: COMMAND.COM
Type the name of the Command Interpreter (e.g., C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM)
I've tried booting the XP recovery console and expanding the command.co_ file, but it says that it can't do it. I have managed to copy the command.co_ file to c:\windows\system32\command.com, overwriting the file that was there, but i still get the same error message.
Any help would be much appreciated.

It sounds like it's trying to boot a 9x system since IIRC when 9x boots it loads command.com from c:\WINDOWS instead of C:\ as MS-DOS did. I could be wrong though.
The command.com on the XP CD is only to be used when you are booted into XP. It cannot be used in real MS-DOS.
