kinipela21 0 Posted October 9, 2007 Hi, Ok so I got a virus on the computer and since the antivirus tried to clean it up my XP has now started doing this odd thing in both safe and normal mode. It will login and start fine as soon as it gets to the desktop it logs out. This happens in both safe mode and normal, and Ive tried resetting to the last working configuration. I also recently bought the Vista upgrade and want to install that however being away at School I don't have my XP cd, but I do have my Windows 98 Cd. - Is there anyway I can install the windows 98 to overide the corrupt XP? - Is there anyway to Fix the corrupt XP? peterh 1 Posted October 11, 2007 1. Delete the NTFS partition and install Windows 98. or 2. Boot from Windows XP CD and do a Repair Install to replace missing/corrupt system files. Share this post Link to post
