I would appreciate any help possible. I just got this acer laptop with vista. I immediately set up a password which I remember. I finally got all my files transfered from my other computer. It promptly said that I needed to restart. So I did. Now I cannot log on with the password I set up or any other that might have been transfered. I did not create a password reset disk and the only disk that it came with conveniently got stepped on and crunched by my son. Does anyone have any ideas?

Reboot into Safe Mode (F5 key during boot) and login as 'administrator' and then use User Accounts control panel to reset your password.

Thank you I did try that but it still will not allow me to log in. It only shows my user name and my password will not work. It also gave me options for safe mode with netorking and safe mode with command prompt. Could either of those help me?

Now with Vista support! 32 & 64 bit. (NTFS filesystem driver now supports Vista)

Read instructions carefully before you use it.

Can't you select change user. Enter your Computer name then \ for example: MY-PC\Administrator.

Login like that?
