having trouble installing pci video card

Installed card, downloaded and updated drivers, changed vid to pci in bios, windows start screen then goes black. Please help!
had to physically remove card and reset bios to onboard to get display back

Did you disable or remove the old video drivers before installing the new card?

Posting the make and model system that you have, as well as the PCI video card make and model will also help troubleshoot your problem.
