I have loaded and reloaded Redhat 9 on my Gateway Select PC (has 256 RAM and AMD-750 Anthion processor, SONY CD/DVD-RW, and 20Gig hard drive). The CD's I used for installation all passed the media test. I had Fedora 5 loaded on it before, so I selected the option on the RH9 install to delete all partitions. The installation went without errors. Problem is, it will not boot past "INIT: version 2.84 booting"!, even with the rescue diskette! I am not a Linux person. But, I need to install Redhat 9 so I can connect a radio receiver to DXTuners network. Can anyone Help?

Try looking at this post and booting with the apm=off command.
