Hi,

dmesg :
Code:
Feb 16 00:31:07 vvterm agpgart: AGP aperture is 128M @ 0xd0000000
Feb 16 00:31:07 vvterm agpgart: Detected ALi M1683 chipset
Feb 16 00:31:07 vvterm ali1535_smbus 0000:00:03.1: ALI1535 not detected, module not inserted.
Feb 16 00:31:07 vvterm ali1535_smbus 0000:00:03.1: ALI1535_smb region uninitialized - upgrade BIOS?
Feb 16 00:31:07 vvterm ali1563: SMBus control = 5003
Feb 16 00:31:07 vvterm ali1563_probe: Returning 0
Feb 16 00:31:07 vvterm ali15x3_smbus 0000:00:03.1: ALI15X3 not detected, module not inserted.
Feb 16 00:31:07 vvterm ali15x3_smbus 0000:00:03.1: ALI15X3_smb region uninitialized - upgrade BIOS or use force_addr=0xaddr
Why ALI1535 is not detected ? My Chipset is not fully supported by Linux ? If it's true, can that have influances on the performance ?

After (in dmesg) :
Code:
Feb 16 00:39:38 vvterm **WARNING** I2C adapter driver [NVIDIA i2c adapter 0 at 1:00.0] forgot to specify physical device; fix it!
Feb 16 00:39:38 vvterm **WARNING** I2C adapter driver [NVIDIA i2c adapter 1 at 1:00.0] forgot to specify physical device; fix it!
Feb 16 00:39:38 vvterm **WARNING** I2C adapter driver [NVIDIA i2c adapter 2 at 1:00.0] forgot to specify physical device; fix it!
a solution ?

Thanks in advance.

Providing more information would help troubleshoot the problem.

Could you specify what Linux distro and exact version that you are using?

Also, what system/motherboard is this?

The sound module also looks like it is not loaded. Did you specify what soundcard you have during the installation?

Specifying what exact distro and version would help assisting you in detecting the soundcard and configuring it. There may be some other issues, but starting here would help.

Hi,

Quote:

My actual distro is Arch Linux testing (But, i've the same message with an older distribution/kernel like Ubuntu Dapper).

My motherboard is ASUS P4U800X. It contain an ULI M1683 chipset (it's supported by Linux ? If it's not, it can decrease the performance ?).

Why sound cards ? It's not a problem with my chipset or AGP driver ?
