Problem w/ Starcraft - auto minimizingin XP

Hi,
I installed Starcraft, Brood War, and the newest 1.14 patch. Everytime I start the game (double-click on the shortcut or run the CD) it opens the startup screen then automatically minimizes to my task bar. The game seems to run fine, but it won't stay up on the screen. I'm a complete newbie to graphics cards, etc. thanks
