Yet another problem with FFVIII.

Hello well im running on Windows XP Media Center Edition (for refrence) and when I install FFVIII is starts up fine shows the credits, opening cinema, ect. When I click on 'New Game' to start it says please insert Disc 1 so I do and it says 'Caution! Wrong Disc!" and goes back to the disc 1 screen. I have tried starting the game up with Disc 1 in it and reinstalling the game. It is brand new just took it out of the package. There are no scratches on the disc and I have tried looking everywhere for patches. Does anyone have a idea how I can fix this?
