Delete Mail in Outlook Express?

Hey all,
I have a problem. When I go to delete my old e-mails they wont go away. They go to the deleted mail folder but when I come back in to OE they are back. Anything I can do?

The general way to delete them so that they don't go to the delete folder is to hold down Shift and while holding it down, hit Delete. After you have done this you click on File - Folder - Compact all folders.
