HI ! i have the following problem : when i use standard file sharing in windows XP, some users gain acces full to my hard drive even if i use the password option. Some tell me that is a small soft capable to do this. Firewalls have no efect . Does someone knows what soft is this and what can i do ?? Thank you !

This might depend on how you have your share set up. If, per chance, you had set the share up for your root directory, it would allow users access to your whole hard drive. If the share is confined to a specific subdirectory, only it and any directories created under it should be available.

The windows is XP professional SP2 and the share is made read only to a folder not a root drive. Nevertheless some users in the intranet gain full acces using a software exploit. This is NOT an error but an evil intention wich must be stoped. Any administrator should be aware of this weaknes. frown .
