how do i get hardware mode for FF7?

I just got a pc version of ff7 and started playing again
I just got out of midgar, everything is fine except, only software mode is available in config since it fails on the 8-bit
I've tried enabling 8bit with RivaTuner but it didn't work
have also tried an unofficial xp patch...

my pc specs are:

Windows XP Service Pack 2
P4 3.2 Ghz
2Gb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX
