Hi there,

I'm running windows XP with SP2 installed.
My current keyboard is looking a little worse for wear and less than half the keys can be identified., solution get a new keyboard !

I did, infact I've had 3. The problem is that within a few hours of pluging in the new keyboard (PS2) my PC starts to freeze. If I shut down and plug the old faithful in it works fine with no problems.

There was no driver disc to install any software with the old keyboard so I know its not a conflict error, does anyone have any ideas whats up. I need a new keyboard as my son is just starting to use the PC and is confused by all the blank keys !

Cheers.

You can go into device manager and delete the keyboard and then install the new one.

Hi there,

Back to the old keyboard again !

I deleted the old one from the device manager and restarted with the new keyboard fitted. It worked just fine, until I rebooted again and both the mouse AND keyboard had frozen but the system booted up, norton ran live update and my auto wallpaper changer changed the wallpaper !
All worked except the keyboard and mouse. Did a forced shutdown, changed back to the old keyboard and rebooted and it all worked just fine again !!!!
The old and the new keyboard are both PS2.

The old keyboard is a sigma (no model number on it).

The new one is a Trust Power Plus.

Neither came with a driver disc.

Cheers,

Jim

Have you tried to Google the maker of your keyboard and seeing if they have a driver?
