Having a problem trying to get my D-Link DWL-520+ working on Fedora Core 5

Recommended Posts

ok Fedora core software doesnt detect my card at all. that i can tell at least. i am still pretty new to linux so dont laugh to hard if this is easy.

i went to the D-link web site and they directed me to ACX100.sf.net for drivers. i downloaded them and followed the instructions to the letter for the outside kernal install. i dont want to mess with the kernal... i dont know enough yet :P the instructions page is http://acx100.sourceforge.net/wiki/ACX

my shell log from following this is as follows

You need the kernel-headers package installed to use this package. This is generally not included in a default Fedora installation.

Go to Applications-->Add/Remove software-->search and type in the search box kernel-devel

Choose the package that matches your kernel version, which you can get by typing in a terminal window, as root user, uname -r

Pick the kernel version that exactly matches your kernel version output on uname -r. Install the package and try the wireless drivers package installation again.
