I need to remove Windows XP and install win2000 in the same machine

Hi
If anyone can help me with this problem. I have a laptop with WindowsXP service pack 2 but I have some program that will not work in windows XP so I need to install windows 2000 but I been having problems doing that. can anyone help me how to remove windows Xp and then re-install windows 2000
