If you manually added an entry of a repository to the /etc/apt/sources.lst file, or though synaptic, you mis-spelled the prefix deb.

Your prefix entry says ded not deb.

This needs to be corrected. An example is;

deb http://smarden.org/pape/Debian

not;

ded http://smarden.org/pape/Debian
