Hi all,
I have installed Fedora core 3 on VMWare 4.5 with the host OS being RedHat linux9. THe installation completed without any error. At partition it took /dev/sda (I dont know whether it is creating problem). After installation when the virtual machine is rebooting, it is giving following error :

PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 4 of device 0000:00:07.1
audit(1137675.929:0): initialized
(running in test mode).
(running in test mode).
REd Hat nash version 4.1.18 starting
(running in test mode).
Red Hat nash version 4.1.18 starting
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

And it's hanging there forever. So , please help me in booting the FC3.

Never have tried VMWare, but someday....

But a couple of things caught my attention.

The host system is RedHat 9. Does this mean that it uses that bootloader?

Device sda, is this a sata drive, or is this how the resources are allocated in VMWare 4.5?

Did you find any installation instructions on Fedora? It looks like Fedora is not supported with this version?

I don't know if we have any VMWare experts here, but I would also try specific forums for the product. This may yield you some more helpful information, if nobody here has an answer.
