AoE2 Causes Crashes in XP2 Home

Are there any XP2 Home Edition patches for Age of Empires 2?

The game keeps causing my system to hang or crash to black and causing all sorts of problems due to not shutting down and booting up properly, seemingly to do with memory address conflicts.
