I am trying to get the Windows version of King's Quest 6 working on Windows XP Home with SP2. When I try to run it the screen goes black for a couple seconds and then comes back to desktop. I have tried all kinds of optiond under the compatibility tab.

I have the (ultra crap) Intel 82845G Exreme Graphics chipset on a Dell laptop. Its 2.5 years old. I have the latest drivers from Intel.

I have gotten the MS-DOS version od KQ 6 working but not well. There wre some loclups and there was one spot where Alex is in the swamp with stick in the mud and rotten tomato where it locked up cold. I had to get someone to send me a save game past that point to get past that issue.

I'd like to try the Windows version.
