FF7 not starting up

I'm using windows XP and I don't know if that has anything to do with my FF7 not starting up. Whenever I try to start it up it asks for me to insert CDs 1,2, or 3, even though my CD 1 is inside the cd-reader. Does anyone have any ideas for this problem? Thanks for you time ^^.
