Password change over a VPN connection from and XP machine to a NT4 server

I have had an issue for awhile that I'm unable to change the password on any of my remote machines that are running XP over the IPSEC VPN connection. I have no problem if the remote client is a NT4 Workstation or a WIN98 machine it will change the password with no problem. Any help in this area would be great.
