xp startup problem

Hi guys
I've installed on my xp pro laptop quick time and had a power surge the computer shot down.Ever since that I can't start it,it asks me if i want to start in safe mode or the last functioning mode but it would'nt start in any af them.If I let it start in normal way it reboots the machine all over again..any suggestion
