Quake 3 Arean on an HP laptop

Quake 3 arena used to work fine on my desktop but on my laptop its just gone bezerk. The mouse is kindda stuck to the top right of the screen and i'm not being able to move it in any direction. The buttons (left and right) are also totally messed. It feels like the mouse isn't being mapped correctly. But suprisingly enough Halo works fine.

Does anyone know what could be the problem?
