internet problem on Mandriva LE2005

I have just installed LE2005 from Mandrake 10. All went well except that I no longer able to access the internet or e-mail. I have a dial up connection that does connect to my ISP but when I launch any web browser or e-mail program I get nothing, any ideas?

Hmmm I recall having similar problems at one time

can you open a terminal and type

ifconfig

and see what the output is? You may need to be root to run the command, but I don't think so.

you may need to do an

ifconfig ppp0 up

or something along those lines.
