I'm trying to figure out how to transfer files from my mac running os 9.2 to my xp machine..so far I've read that it'd be easier to emulate os 8 on my xp box and do it that way, but I don't think that's the only way.

can anyone help with this?

Are the machines networked via ethernet ?!?

If so then you should be able to use something like an FTP server on the XP side and an appropriate FTP client on the MAC side.

I'm not sure about using the File & Printer sharing options however, as this applies to Windows machines. I'm not sure if OS9.xx has support for this.

Another option maybe to use something like Samba, however, I'ver not really played around with this much wink

I'll try the ftp idea..if it works for xboxes, it should work for macs

I know for a fact that unix and NT can both share hard drive space. About 5 years ago, while in the navy, I worked at a place that had a 5 terabyte file server that users had home directories that they could access with either their NT box or their Unix box. Not two seperate "home" directories, but the same.

http://www.javvin.com/diskaccessdetail.html <--- costs money, but it can be done...

http://www.xlink.com/eval.htm <--- 15 day trial

http://www.fileheaven.com/NFS-client-and-server-for-windows-ProNFS/download/10099.htm <--- $40 (I think) Though, they said free download...hmmm

And finally, SAMBA, which is free. I haven't tried this, but looks promising.

Hope this helps!
