ethernet adapter not working mdk 10.1

i have downloaded mdk 10 official from this site and loaded it. first boot crashed so i loaded it again. got to "dos" and startx...got to desktop etc...but during boot, on verbose, interface eth0 "failed". at desktop yellow exclamation mark was on and says network not configured. tried to configure, ethernet adapter was there but still no internet. i even tried deleting connection and "new connection" but still no good. any advice on this one will be appreciated. thanks.
