can i load oracle on xp pro? if yes then how???

i right clicked on setup abd set compatibility mode to Win98/Me

setup starts.... then i get an option :

standard starter database

starter database with replication

wht does this mean??? also it hangs when it reaches 54% of installtion (oracle custum installer 8.0.1.0.1

any sugg? plz help
