I found a few tips and such on this subject however short of a reinstall/restore point, I couldn't really find a way to correct this.

When I click on a link with the .vob extension and left click on it, WMP automatically opens. If I use the right click and save as, well you guessed it, not a direct link, only the redir *.htm/html gets saved

So to make a long story short I installed Mozilla Firefox for the first time, it's really a nice alternative to IE/Maxthon and the like. Well this worked for me, I could just left click on it and then Save As.
