I listen to alot of MP3 music while I surf the web. Is there any way to mute the sounds coming fi IE6 while not affecting the sounds from my MP3 player (Winamp). Thanks.

Sounds on web pages or sounds when you click on navigation buttons?

The actual sounds coming from the web-pages themselves.

Go to control panel\internet options click advanced tab, scroll down to multimedia and uncheck 'play sounds in web pages'

Should work.

Check registry @
my computer\hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\internet explorer\advancedoptions\multimedia\sounds.

should show (among others):

(Defult): (value not set)
CheckedValue: yes
DefultValue: yes
Text: Play sounds in web pages
Type: checkbox
UncheckedValue: no
ValueName: Play_Background_Sounds.

Now I'm really stumped. That is what my registry says, and I'm still getting sounds fro certain web-sites.
