Color/ Size Problem

my screen is stuck at 16 colors and 640x480 pixels...... and when i go to settings and change it to High Color and when i try to change it to 800x600 pixels it doesn't change when i reboot. it just stays at 16 colors and 640x480 pixels..... help?

Sounds like your S3 card doesn`t have enough memory on it for higher res (if its built in then you can set memory via BIOS Setup screen before Windows loads).

Isnt this just as simple as a driver issue?

Try this page:

........And also links to Win9x/ME drivers (for 370 and 377 chips).

I'd suggest detecting the graphics chip and going from there. Unless you know it already then just go get some new drivers smile
