Ok just installed win2k sp4 on my new p3 1ghz Inspiron lappy need help

ok I need to know what services I can disable because after i boot it takes forever for my harddrive to stop thrashing and the cpu to stop going above 50% usage LOL. after i installed my AV software and other things I usually run after boot im at 140+ megs usage in memory and that seems really high. What I use the laptop for:

Internet
gaming (older games)
wireless
work
listening to music etc etc
