Hello,
I have just bought my new USB US Robotics modem.
After reading most of your posts about this manufacturer,
now I would be pleased buddies If you could tell me, which
distro will detect my device 100% :-)
At the moment I am thinking of buying:
Fedora Core 2/3
Mandrake 10.1
Thank you in advance :-)
Greetings,
Aris K. Vougias

What exact model do you have? If it is the US Robotics 56k winmodem, it will not work.

On a kind of related note, if y'all are like me, I have several 56 K internal modems all over the place, as the result of moving boxes over to cable or DSL.
A few days ago, I decided to go through all of them just to see if any would work under Linux. To my surprise and delight, fully two of the nine I tried actually worked! One was a really old 16 bit card that could only manage 9600. But one was an old 3Com PCI that got 51000!
I thik I'll take the rest to the shooting range and see how they stand up to my Colt 45...
