I setup a network with XP home Sp1 Last week and all works fine. Last night i installed a hub and 2 pc"s with Xp home SP2 and they cant see each other. Heres the setup :
- 2 desktops, Xp Home SP2. They dont need internet access
- 1 x 5 Port hub ,
- 1 x A3 scanner. 1 x A3 epson printer. These are installed on one of the pc"s and shared. I setup a ip & subnet & domain name shared c: drive on bought, Disabled firewall on bought Pc"c, they cant see or ping ? .
If i Let windows obtain a ip by its self it works ? but when the system reboots nortons antivirus has a X which means its disabled and sits there for about 50 seconds you cant use pc. Then the X goes and its enabled then the rest of the system loads ( taskbar icons )you can use the system ? The network icon on the taskbar has a ! says - no connection or limited. But they can share files ?
I did set up network wizard , created the disk but they still cant see each other or ping .
Any idea"s how to get rid of this delay 50 seconds to a minute wait.
