The Sims 2--Please Help

Hi I'm not very good at computers and need help wit the sims 2. I bought the game and i intalled it and it was fine. However when i try to play it the game won't load and a message pops up saying the following: "failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adaptors in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer."

I have a vague idea on what this means based on posts i have seen here but i don't understand any of the solutions without getting a little confused. Can anyone help me?

Hi,
well in order to help it would help us if you could provide us with some more info about your computer. What are the specs on it, stuff like what kind of processor what type of video card etc.
also is it a pre bought system like Dell etc and if so what is the model number.

let us know and we can see what we can do to help.
