I can't unzip anything (as of 2 days ago) = DIW on the net!

At first I thought it was because the last few downloads all came from majorgeeks and I was hoping it was their problem (sorry major) but I just tried downloading from another site and I get the same problem. I also downloaded 2 different freeware unzip utilities but they both say that the zipped files are corrupted or are not in the correct format.

I imagine it has something to do with file associations but that's not really my forte.

Any help would really be appreciated because if I don't get this fixed, I'll need to resort to using my NTbackup file.

Thanks.

DIW = dead in the water (sorry, old navy talk, lol)

I getting to my box sporadically right now, moving tomorrow so... but I just tried a zip file that was already on my box and it opened fine so apparently the zip utility I downloaded does work okay which leads me back to believing that something is wrong with majorgeeks site since the 2 zips that I've tried again just now (after re-downloading) don't open.

Can you download/unzip something from majorgeeks right now with no problem?

I'll get to your suggestions ASAP (maybe today, maybe over the weekend frown )... I already miss my box LOL.

Thanks for the reply, I'll keep you informed.

BTW: is there anyway to pull up all my previous posts? It's such a hassle for me everytime I come here to lookup a previous conversation, prolly just haven't looked in the right place yet.

TIA. (thanks in advance) lol

Not to sound to obvious, but are you sure they're zip files - check by doing a dir from a command prompt
I've had both Windows and WinZip identify files as being zipped, when they were actually RARed or ARJed

Just a thought

Finally online at my new residence (albeit slower web retrievals so far, although the tech swears the line is clean as a whistle with high incoming/outgoing numbers (I'm still playing with my box)) but (back to this thread) I checked for the two files you mentioned earlier:
dunzip32.dll &/or dzip.dll files and didn't have either one, very weird indeed (I was downloading and unzipping files no problem before!) so I just now gave in and downloaded the latest WinZip has to offer which enabled me to download Ad-Aware's latest .DEF file and update my box.

No telling what happened to my unzip capabilities but I'm good for now, thanks for the tips all.

Now, what have I missed over the last 6 days...
