We have various computers running NT4 (PRo and Server), W2K(pro and Adv Sever), XP (pro) and 2003 Appliance Server all using IE6

whenever we go to www.google.com we get the download box appearing asking us to open or save a file.

the contents start with the following lines

L_H_APP = "MSN+Hotmail";
H_URL_BASE = "http://help.msn.com/EN_WW";
H_CONFIG = "MSN_Hotmail_PIMv9085.ini";

var L_SignInABcont_Text="Sign In to Messenger"

Go to a file called Hosts. It is usually located in \Windows\System32\Drivers\etc. It is a text file. You can edit the text. Unless you have gone in there and set up a lot of values, it will normally read:

127.0.0.1 localhost

You can cut and paste what you find there to a regular text file, but you should reset it to that value alone to start with.
