I have this weird sound problem with FC2 which is that i don't seem to have sound in many apps in FC2. All the games that i run in WINE like diablo 2 have no sound. UFO Alien Invasion and chromium b.s.d don't have sound either. I'll get errors messages like "cd audio not available". But XMMS and system alerts work fine. I didnt have this problem with RedHat 9. Im using integrated AC'97 sound btw.

you might try to uncheck
Red Hat->Preferences->Sound->Enable Sound Server Startup
or instead
killall esd ; killall artsd

and see if your troubles are caused by your window manager's sound multiplexing daemon.
