Hey, i just installed mandrake 10 on a new partition, and it seems like everything has installed properly, yet when i get to boot magic and pick mandrake it goes to "preparing machine to load mandrake linux" and just sits there...i tried re-installing, i dont know what to do, im a complete newbie to linux so plz help me!!!
Amd 1.33 ghz
384 mb ram
Ati Radeon 128mb 9200
Gigabyte Z7XE MoBo
HD1 40gb Maxtor (C: Windows XP)
HD2 160gb (Split into 4 Partitions, 1st 20 gb Mandrake Partion, 1.5 gb swap file, 50 mb fat32 boot magic partition, and aprox 130 gb storage)

using Partition Magic to set up your partitions is a Good Thing. 
unfortunately, Boot Magic is often a Bad Thing.
would you be distressed to uninstall Boot Magic, make sure WinXP is still OK and happy,
then install MDK again and permit the native bootloader (Grub, isn't it?) to write
to the MBR?
