hmm, do you mean you've already set up a local apt repository?
or are you simply trying to get apt set up to grab packages off of an Internet
repository?

If I'm understanding corectly you want to run apt-setup and define the proxy with the wizard. You may want to backup your sorce list just to be safe.

if you're intending to support a number of Debian hosts from one Debian package
caching server, then refer to the apt-proxy homepage.
the "README and FAQ" file has step-by-step instructions, and there's even an example
apt-proxy.conf file.
